Lucinda Larson has been creating sugar art for more than 47 years. She began decorating cakes at a young age and even used her talent to put herself through college, earning a degree in Visual Communication Technology with an emphasis in Graphic Design. After working in the corporate world, she realized her heart belonged at home raising her children and building a life around the art of cake decorating.
"I paid for my college with cakes, thinking I’d leave it behind but cakes never left me," Lucinda laughs. "I realized I could be with my children and share my passion for sugar art at the same time."
Known as the Icing Diva™, Lucinda has taught students around the world to see cakes as edible art. She is celebrated for her approachable, playful style (she calls herself as having the “attention span of a grasshopper”) and for making complex decorating techniques easy and fun for her students.

At the heart of Lucinda’s work is a simple belief: cake decorating is more than technique it’s about sharing joy, love, and creativity through sugar art. With her background in graphic design, she brings principles of balance, color theory, and composition into every cake, turning each one into a piece of edible art.
She inspires students to experiment, laugh, and never fear making a mistake because as she reminds them: “You can always add more color it’s just harder to take it off!”
